Tonight there was only 1 person that had any money after double Jeopardy and eligible for Final Jeopardy, not sure I have seen that ever. She was guaranteed a win and to move on as a champion, but wonder what would have happened if she bet all her money on the question (she did get the question wrong).

Cliff Clavin would know the answer to your question.

Me too. Judges probably reversed their decision during the break.

That Ken Jennings hoe answer is legendary haha!
I definitely hadn't ever seen another round like that one yesterday where 2 people failed to make it to the final- esp that one woman who was almost 10k in the hole.
Stoked Alex will be on for a bit longer as we've been trying to get to a taping

Then she would have gone home and three new contestants would be on tonight. To win you must have money. $1 is enough, but if you've got zero you're sent packing. Apparently it has happened, too.

Figured there had to be some rule for this deep in the fine print.... But what Darwin would bet everything they have and not at least leave $1 as you state, just in case they really did not know the category for Final as well as they thought they did.

call in the scholars of medieval tool development, find "hoe" was randomly chosen among various spelling options including "ho", alternatively argue that "hoe" is actually "whore" if you see it as _ho_e, or as 'ho'e

    thus making Alex wrong again

There was an episode a season or two ago that took out everyone (I think in that instance it was down to two) in final. Fresh 3 next episode. The idea is they feel like they know the category well enough and don't want to lose by a dollar. They win outright, tie or both go home.

Serious question, Why would you bet an amount that would beat your opponent by $1.00? If you are going to win, you are going to win, whether by $1.00 or $1000.00. If you are going to loose, who cares? Are you playing for 2nd or 3rd place?

generally you wouldn't wager that because goal is to have the most dollars to win (and take home) Only rarely would it come to a buck - that's the price is right, my friend
wagering is a big part of the game in jeopardy
If you want to geek out http://thefinalwager.co/ dissects the games well

I've seen it happen plenty of times on Jeopardy. Hence my question my friend
