Torn ACL advice?
So I just tore my ACL (huge bummer) and I am getting ready to have surgery soon but I'm wondering how foolish it would be to ski mellow with my beefed up brace with a locking hinge. I really am not experiencing any pain and can walk fine but I know that it is possible to dislocate my knee while the acl is torn and I don't want to be a complete dumbass so I am wondering if there's anyone out there who has experince with this. I'm just kind of going crazy living in a ski town and not being able to ski.
Thoughts?

This should be in gimp forum....
I skiied 25+ days with a torn ACL and a brace, and even got a few powder days. Just keep your skis on the ground, and I also stayed off my big powder sticks.

Skiiing with a partially torn acl/meniscus wearing a Defiance brace. Like others said keep your skis in contact with the snow and don`t put yourself in the back seat. When I fall I just have to be aware of how I get back up/not torqueing my knee. My PT also advised me to stop stretching my legs. The tighter they are the better for stability.

Out of respect for Shane, you should change your forum name. There's only one true Cliff Huckstable!
Oh, wrong forum JONG!"Can't vouch for him, though he seems normal via email."
