We do, and I conceded defeat. I moved my stuff to another bathroom and this way we are both happy.

Fixed it for you. My wife let me know that our pedestal sink with no medicine cabinet is a huge PITA for her, so we're selling the house

Yup, all my wife’s clothes are on top of the dresser rather than inside it. And all the drawers are opened, by her. The danger now is that it falls over because it’s so top heavy. So now the master bedroom’s off limits for the toddler.

They look nice if your bathroom has that old fashion look.

Yup, much larger area to catch everything than most cabinet sink setups I have seen. My wife hates our pedestal sink. She 'accidentally' dropped a heavy glass onto the porcelain and put in a large crack. So now we can remodel the bathroom she says. And shows me all these vanities with small sinks but huge cabinets. So far I have refused to move on the replacement/remodel.

You're just kicking the can down the road here. May as well just get it over with.

You kick it far enough... you can avoid doing it altogether.

I was able to kick the bathroom remodel down the road about 10 years.
It became a problem when my sink needed replacement.

I've replaced two of the shitty stamped steel sinks (built 1987) when they rusted through with porcelain ones sourced at the "Habitat ReStore" in SW Denver. Fuck that remodel shit.

i took a couple years to complete the guest bathroom remodel
that way when its time to redo the master one she wont think itll happen in a day week or month
shes on the rowin machine every morn at 5 to the point of sweat
but if i ask for a few extra strokes on the river to slow the drift
the desire to row aints the same

Which, in the context of my stance with the bathroom model, seems entirely appropriate

To be clear, when you say strokes, you're still talking about actually rowing a boat, right? There was this other thread(s) with some interesting euphemisms.

He wasn't talking about misappropriation from Native American culture but from '50's culture, which is sacred to some of us. Just like the Dude is sacred to some of you younger (but still elderly) folks.

Oh, it “was” the original intent to just replace the sinks. But that grew into new fixtures, then new counter, then vanity, then, then, then…..by the time I was done the wife a had a brand new bathroom and I had an empty bank account.

When you get started on an old house you never know where it ends. Once took half a day to hang a picture. Removed a shitty mirror to find it was covering a hole in the wall, with a wiring junction in the stud space with no J box, going to a wall light fixture hard wired with lamp wire in the wall.
