Last night I went to take a shower before going to bed around 9:30. My wife says to me, "it is a good thing you didn't take a shower earlier. They are putting out requests to conserve electricity because of the hot days." I looked at her and asked what that had to do with taking showers. She said that taking showers was on the list of electricity consuming activities.
She got mad when I told her that our hot water tank is heated by the oil furnace.

My wife thought, until about 5 years when I explained to her how it works, that hot water came in from the street that way. I said, "no, it goes into a big tank cold, gas is used to heat the tank, and then hot water is available from the tank. When you use up the hot water in the tank, them there is no more hot water until the tank warms up again."
I was baffled, and then I realized (something i already intrinsically knew) that there are millions of people out there who have absolutely no idea about how stuff works, and don't care how it works. They just want what they want when they want it.

Not really, just made lots of stupid excuses. I think she's harder on herself than anyone else could be, but guess who gets to deal with insurance claims and body shop? That's right. Not her.
