Northern BC going off - cold and pow
From a friend in Smithers
"Toured at the ski area today. 45cm fresh.Minus 10. Was getting faceshots skinning uphill"
http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts...ntain/6day/mid - Shames forecasting 48cms over next weekend but maybe getting warmer
http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts...thers/6day/mid Smithers with "just" 34cms new on top of the 45 new they just had but staying cold.!
Been doing some research
Note that you can fly, ski, stay at Terrace and Smithers for about the same cost as it takes to get to Whisgnar from Vangroovy on a typical package. About $550 per person for a two day weekend for 2 days lift tix, 3 night accoms, flight all in. Must fly via Hawkair to get the buy one get one free deal.
Check this out for Smithers

and this for Terrace

That looks nice. Had it on the agenda for last season and was gonna mooch Gary's place and then it didnt snow for a month so we scrapped it. Might have to get it on the dance card for later this month.

Confirmed. Skied the hill at Shames yesterday, free half refills throughout the day, nobody on the hill aside from the A Grade locals. Test the quiver day. K2 Darksides, Armada JJ's, Armada Declivity. Skinny ski faceshots on the diamonds, fat ski chest shots, uber fat ski belly button hits. Armada Declivities for the win today. VERY happy that shames is open for thirsty thursdays through february...perfect timing for my stepping back from ski touring a bit and "just wanna do lap after lap refining product testing" season ethos.

Fuck it, let's go bowling.
I am good to make it up in mid-March if any other beaters wish to rally with me. Or the end of this month. I can stay a week. Or two. Europe is killing everyone this year and I hear nothing bad ever happens in BC."Buy the Fucking Plane Tickets!"

Sick. Reminds me of my last trip to retallack.
I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues
