I watched. Not seeing much progression this year. Snowboarding or sled.

Tall t's are still abundant, as are their minions.

It was enough to pull me off my other sports channel (cooking).

Not really much to see IMHO.

    Same same. $$ and fake.

Good on the little guys, but, honestly, there isn't anything that even makes me look up anymore.

    So be it.

Wait till the backlash and short t's are all the rage...that's true progression.

Say what you will but Danny's stylie, flowing riding is refreshing as hell. I think what impressed me the most was how cleanly and high on the wall he landed.

Just got done watching the Ski Superpipe elimination round and I took away a few things:

    1) Love that the judges rewarded stylish, well executed and huge airs over double-double-double spin to win moves - Kudos to a seriously nice human being Gus Kenworthy on his #1 seed heading into the finals. He only threw 1 double on his run.

    2) Skiing can and continues to progress so much more than snowboarders. Maybe it's the geometry of it and how they go bigger, maybe it's because they have 2 skis as opposed to one board... who knows. All I know is that every time I tune in, I see something different that I've never seen before.

    3) Looking forward to the Ski Pipe and Slope finals tomorrow and Sunday, lots of really talented skiers out there.

Hell yeah! Danny Davis is the best thing that's happened to main stream snowboarding. It's awesome that the judges appreciate flowy style instead of just how many spins and flips someone can pull off. Switch method ftw.

Gus Kenworthy was a little bitch when I was a camper with him at High North. He was under 5 ft tall and was 15 or 16. Thought he was real thug.

Looks like you're the little bitch now. Kenworthy is 5'10", 23 years old and Olympic medal winner.

Lotta people going down hard in the ski big air. Ow. Danny Davis landing those smooth ass airs as high up the wall as possible should have won; I was surprised it did.

I too am glad judges are starting to steer the sport back towards style, and a ridiculous screamin seaman to octograb from Gagnier. His victory lap seemed liked a big middle finger to the future spins...

Also loved Kai Mahler's style, looked like he was actually having fun out there.

You can sign up for the closed Beta here which starts in March. Or buy the alpha now on steam.

I'm no gamer but that seems like a fun time waster. Explain it to me if you will. It's free, but not until some beta release and until then you have to pay? It's a computer game - do you need a controller? Can you test drive it on the x games course that you showed us or do you have to buy in?

Oh, and props to Perfect North's Nick Goepper on his 3 peat of ski slopestyle. The little Indianan that could.

You can use a Xbox or PlayStation remote or a keyboard. The alpha has been out for quite a while now and you have to pay for it. The way I see it it's an investment in the startup company and small dev team that are making it. If you sign up on time on their website you can get into the closed beta and play it before the final version is released. The final version will be on PC and PS4. Right now the game is still a bit buggy and not well optimized so unless you have a decent gaming computer with a dedicated GPU it might not run well. As of today only the top two tester tiers can play the XGames map and it will be released to the bottom tier once major bugs are found and handled. The bottom ($15) version has the Sochi slopestyle course, the Jon Olsson invitational big air jump, and the giant Sialia mountain open world freeride maps available to play right now.
