Are these 912's wrecked? How about these bd sts skin tails?

Can I cheaply resurrect these oldies but goodies? The binders have a crack in the plastic heel screw plate and the skins have a cracked link at the start of my rubber thingy

Tabbed Solomon heel track (both the metal and plastic parts) can be easily replaced. Either salvage spare parts from other broken bindings, or ask your local Salomon dealer to order spare parts directly from Salomon's painfully slow an incompetent spare parts office. Probably free, or they might charge you ~<$15.

Or take this as an excuse to upgrade to the STH series which isn't prone to this kind of damage.

    See this thread...

    http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...fix?highlight=

... where I was told that the plate is not structural to the binding and un-necessary to fix... but I fixed it before I was told this, obviously.

No, no, don't spread anything. The rubber strap pulls out via the non-pointy end with pliers and a bit of wiggling.

So I didn't know how to remove the old tail strap (despite you telling me in this thread). You DO NOT have to remove the rivets. With a screwdriver I could pop out the old strap. This video from another thread is helpful in showing how to pop the new strap in at 4:40. Thanks again ML and all
