    I like a standard steel mattress frame. I find footboards and wood sides get in the way and make the bed harder to make, so I just use a headboard. The frame is covered by a skirt so you never see it. Here's my headboard.Name:  headboard.jpg

    You might give Woodleys a look. Most is made in Colorado. Crate and Barrel is pretty nice design and construction but their finishes are very non-durable. If you look at it wrong a scratch appears if that bothers you. Arhaus is also very well-made mostly in US but if something goes wrong, customer service is lame at best. I agree with you about American Furniture Whorehouse.

    I'll tell my wife you said so. If it were up to me the sheets, shams, and down comforter cover (I refuse to say "duvet") would all be solid brown so I never had to wash them.
