Sacramento cop arrested for felony filing false police report related to a traffic stop, discovery of a concealed weapon. The stop was made by two female cops. The stop was investigated after police authorities were alerted by other officers. The second female cop was suspended as were other officers as well. The question that comes to my mind--given how unusual it is for cops to turn in other cops, especially in Sacramento, were the two female cops corrupt or is this payback from male officers. Not a lot of specific information in the article.

Yeah, there was more in the Bee today. I think the cop's mistake was not shooting the guy. Then they would have given her a medal instead of arresting her.
The cop that turned her in is the partner of her fiance. The plot thickens. But it's a pretty dull plot--cop confronts a guy she thinks is a criminal without a reason to do so, searches his car without permission, finds a gun, and tries to concoct a story to justify the stop and search and leaves an electronic trail. You could say Sac PD is trying to clean up its act and get rid of bad cops, except there's plenty of other evidence to the contrary. There's some internal politics going on--hard to explain the a lengthy, full-court-press investigation into what seems like a minor incident.

The (white) prosecutor sued claiming he was fired for being white ? After he withheld evidence that should have exonerated two innocent (black) men, sending these innocent men to prison for life ? What a POS.

He was fired after he withheld evidence, but it wasn't known at the time he had withheld evidence. It was long after that the withheld evidence was discovered ironically because his successor implemented the "open file" policy.
