Follow-up regarding former police officer, and full-time POS, James Brennand:
Investigators quickly determined that the use of deadly force was unwarranted, Brennand was swiftly fired, and charges against Cantu of aggravated assault and evading arrest were dropped.
In an appearance on CNN Tuesday morning, Police Chief William McManus had said he expected Brennand to be charged with aggravated assault for the shooting and murder in the event Cantu dies.

IMO its because cops are trained that cars are deadly weapons, and a car moving in their vicinity (which could cause them harm) is justification for deadly force. This leads to them stepping into the path of vehicles trying to escape, or opening the car doors while the car is moving, or other actions that have little to no probability of stopping a suspect, but does give the officer reasonable cause to use deadly force.
Ive seen numerous videos over the years where a suspects vehicle gets surrounded by officers on foot, and inevitiably when the suspects starts to start/stop jerk the car to get away an officer either steps into the path of the car to block it, or starts opening fire.

This is one of those times I think that humanity is fucked beyond repair and that a meteor strike can't come soon enough. Not a planet-killer. Just one big enough to squash officer fuckhead like a bug. No wonder a lot of people don't like cops. Maybe they need to look in the mirror once in a while.

Police shoot a guy with his hands up, but has a gun in his waistband - hey, he was armed!
