Looks like another one of Chicago's finest was found out to be a traitor and insurrectionist. Some great racist language in his texts, too. I wonder how many defendants he arrested and was secretly calling them the N-word behind their backs.

Don’t look now, but Germany looks like it has a major neonazi problem in its police forces.

"In the press conference, Mayor Lightfoot slammed the head of the Chicago police union who had praised the participants immediately after the riot with comments that he later tried to walk back."

Just like the commercial says: vaping causes metal bits to go into your body.

On a somewhat less serious note--cops falsely claim Shake Shack manager tried to poison them.

The North Carolina sheriff's deputies who fatally shot Andrew Brown Jr. in April could have avoided taking his life, policing experts say, if they had followed best practices and not opened fire when he fled in a car as they tried to serve warrants.
But the fatal shooting may well have complied with the Pasquotank County Sheriff's Office use-of-force policy, which allows deputies to shoot at a moving vehicle even when best practices say they shouldn't.
That's by design. But the policy wasn't designed by the Sheriff's Office, the county commission or any other government authority.
The Sheriff's Office obtained its use-of-force policy from a company that sells ready-to-use manuals that prioritize law enforcement officers' discretion — policies that hold them to a minimum standard that's defensible in court rather than best practices in policing.

Along similar lines, a private prison company is having a big hiring fair for prison guards around here. It's really tempting to show up just to see the fetid underbelly of society in all it's glory. Gonzo style, with a tape recorder, hidden camera, plenty of Wild Turkey and a fake name.
Although that sort of people watching may destroy the last vestiges of faith I have left in humanity.

That really sucks for everyone involved there (especially the guy who died). However, that very well could have been a complete accident by the responding officer. Making the turn onto the street and then trying to figure out the address location. Looking to the side to see if there is a numbered house instead of 100% attention to what is in the street. The article says the victim told the dispatcher that he was in the middle of the road. Did the dispatcher tell that to the officer?
Terrible awareness while driving = yes
Intentionally running over a shooting victim (aka police behaving badly) = unlikelyAim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Yeah, cops just a slow reader, that's all. (dude was visible for five seconds leading up to the impact)

A few of them, do behave badly.
But the vast majority, choose to serve the public and they put their lives on the line.

Lead in to story:
On April 11, Daunte Wright was murdered by police during a traffic stop. The following days and weeks were filled with righteous anger, pain, and purposeful resolve to see a different way forward.

On April 11, Daunte Wright was mistakenly killed by police while resisting a warrant for his arrest during a traffic stop. The following days and weeks were filled with anger, pain, and purposeful resolve to see a different way forward.
Guess which one is the actual lead-in.
