Saw a piece on Simone Biles tonight. She's impressive, and not just as an athlete. Not the easiest life--single drug addict mom, foster care until adopted by her grandparents. The Larry Nasser thing. Refused to take crap from the Karolyis. And she has a mind--although at 23 she's obviously more interesting to listen to than the average teenage elite gymnast. She's hoping for one more Olympics--for her sake alone I hope they go off this summer. It's going to be tough.

Not impressed--try having major major surgery. When you finally poop you'll need a wheelbarrow to take it out to the backyard to bury it because it won't fit in the toilet.

Weighing myself before and after, the biggest one I have recorded is 5.4 lbs and that felt like I shat my entire innards out. Who knows what the biggest one ever was.

On Jupiter that would be close to 4 lbs.

Hey, the first time I did it was because the scale happened to be sitting there and I thought I wonder how much weight I'll lose dropping a deuce.

My wife just submitted her first crossword to the New York Times. It's pretty good, but I'm sure it's not easy to get one published. The going rate is $500 for a published crossword and it goes up to $750 after you've had three published. That's for the Monday through Saturday puzzles, the Sunday rates are quite a bit higher.

Perhaps she could do a TGR crossword puzzle?

    Down
    1. Part of NY state not able to be delineated. Ans. Upstate
    2. Formerly known as iceman. Ans. otzi

    etc.

"CHANGEFORANICKEL" would be the obvious long clue, but it's one character too long (15x15 grid).

I'd say it's too tough for a Monday. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday level.

    Science fact of the day...

"Fish poop is full of carbon, and the ocean is full of fish poop. A new study estimates up to 16 percent of all the carbon in the world's oceans come from fish faeces, fish breath, and other fish excretions."
