Tonight for dinner I had bread from France, butter from Ireland, cheese from Finland, tomato from Canada, arugula and cucumber from the US, and olive oil from Italy. And all I had was a grilled cheese and salad.

Finlandia jack and cheddar. Decent daily drivers although I like my cheddar quite a bit sharper.

Where was the sugar from? What, no sugar? Sugar is the key ingredient of a grilled cheese sandwich. ( I also use monterey jack and a little feta or blue cheese.)

Sugar? Seriously? How have I lived this long and not heard that?

Inside. Pro tip, put it on the side that is down to start so the melted cheese keeps it from falling out when you flip it.
And don't knock it until you've tried it. I got it from my little brother. Don't know where he got it from--certainly from our mother, who couldn't make a grilled cheese sandwich without burning down the house.

Jam or jelly in a grilled cheese is a lot better than it should be, so I am intrigued.

What's the difference between jelly and jam?

That sounds like a random unthreadworthy question to me.

The only acceptable things in a grilled cheese are more cheese, tomato, onion, bacon or ham.

Sugar? You want a side of diabeetus with that heart disease?

I did one once with very finely diced sausage. It was edible. 8)

Are you one of those guys that adds sugar to salsa and pasta sauce?

Yes on bacon. I often add an egg or two done over easy.

Wouldn't those then become "melts," and no longer technically grilled cheeses?

I don't want bits of shit falling out of my grilled cheese sandwich. If I want a melt, I'll order/make a melt.

Jelly is jam that has the solids filtered out. Juice only, no seeds or pulp.

So fisting a jam and grilled cheese sandwich up his moms ass would check all the boxes

You can call it a shitty jam melt if you need to.

    Winning!
