Alaska 2014-2015 Conditions & Stoke Thread
A place to post conditions, observations, stoke, and adventures from the 49th state. As goldenboy once said, "maybe Ullr has been waiting for this thread to start snowing, rather than us waiting for snow to start this thread."
Got up to the Jewel today. Seems the rest of Alaska had already been there. Looking across the Milk at the awesome west wall of Goat Mountain.
Despite all the traffic, no one had hit the headwall above the Jewel.
Approximately a two foot base on the Jewel. Managed to ski all the way back down to the parking lot with the exception of a few short walking sections. Observed slides on suncrusts, depth hoar, and the ground. Primarily on south and west aspects. Lots of crossloading in the Crow Creek drainage.

SICK!
Nothing worth skiing in WY. Yet. Consider this an official attempted thread hijack.

Please don't blow up Keystone, they really do have fantastic groomers.
Now post more AK pics you punter. For instance, did you ski back down or just wallow around in the snow?

Nice to see winter. It has been real slow peaking around these parts.
Wait Jed you moved to Seattle? What I saw of Alaska that would be a hard state to leave so long as you could find work.

Still catching up on last winter's adventures. In light of the snow that's coming, here's a quick blog post from last March at the Snowbird.
