re: Yellowhead Highway, I've driven it.
For anyone looking at a Shames trip, I'd call Hawkair. If you are flexible on the dates, they have some good deals. IIRC, they used to throw a lift ticket in gratis.

re: baker
The aviation area forecast is calling for a 5000' freezing level. The 6000' wind is forecast to be due south. Satellite shows a warm front that is going to make landfall this afternoon. Straight up pineapple express.
I'd like to share nwskier's optimism, but brit's probably right.

Decided to take some time and enjoy the table scraps that Stevens Pass still had to offer today. A few inches of dust on crust, but skied decent enough. Snowing most of the morning, but all felt in vain. Based on the forecast through the weekend, I wouldn't be surprised if they have to close until another real winter storm rolls through. They just don't have much base to give up at this point.
In constant pursuit of the perfect slarve...

Got it. Do I get points for not looking at the forecast for the mountain it's self?
At this rate there's not going to be any snow left in a week...

Are we going to lose any shops after this season? I remember the last go around we lost a few.

So I unexpectedly have next weekend to myself. Seriously considering driving to Big Sky to get something out of my Snoqualmie pass...

As flowing alpy said, Fiorini's lease was gonna double, and they were ready to call it quits regardless.
Olympic Sports got too big. The North Gate location used to get my money as well.
With Mt Pilchuck, Marmot and SnoCon already closed up, I think most of the local shops should be able to stay around. If any disappear, my money is on Seattle Ski.
04-05 was a worse season, too.
