Just returned from an unusual (for me) mid winter trip to Hawaii. I ate and drank more pineapples than I can count. Very agreeable weather. As pleasant as it was snorkeling, soaking up sun with my feet in the sand and cooled by perfect trade winds, I wish I was skiing thigh deep fresh snow pillows instead.

For bad skiing in the PNW, this year has now surpassed the previous record set in the snow drought of 1975-76. That season skiing got quite good from Feb. through spring time.

The rest of this year doesn't look as promising but I do expect some goodness come the end of February/March. Then a sunny/warm early spring. So plan your spring ski trips a little early this year.

This kind of winter certainly make climate change even more scary. Most years we're on the ragged edge of snow vs. rain. Just a small nudge in the wrong direction and things turn to shit quickly.

Hey now, not all of us moved here for the snow. But a lot of us are staying here because of it...

    Gotta be cheaper to drive.

Between the no snow and trying to drive north on 405 from Renton I'm convinced that if there is a god its malevolent.

Maybe, if you have the 17 hours spend driving.

    I hate this winter.

I've done that drive a couple times. It's not bad with the right copilot. Of course, I've only done it in September.
