No. Take RT 90 west, to RT 5 south, to RT 10 east, then RT 81 north to RT 91 north.

Should only take two plus weeks if you can avoid any smokies

90W? WTF? Would have to go to Springfield first...I guess there's no way to take 100N first to shorten it before taking 91? Maybe get on 91 around Bellows Falls?

    2. Current backcountry ski conditions?
(I recall that the wx fx was for mixing even at Jay, and with cold temps since then -- including -19F tonight! -- I would think that everything would be unskiably locked up ... although the resort is reporting everything open, but then again maybe that's possible only with continued skier traffic to break up everything?)

    Thanks from the lycra crowd!

Long drive just for the race, but tempted about the possibility of mixing it up with a horde of fast Quebecois, especially after this past Saturday's TGR skiercross rando race:

Jay skied really well yesterday. Creamy snow that filled in the troughs. Crust was light. I stayed at the Lyndon Motor Lodge years ago and it was ok from what I remember. Heard that further south got no crust.

I've been pretty out of touch lately but if you're up there and run into Bill or he's involved at all with the race, send him my regards and tell him congratulations. He's an old family friend.

ok, I had no clue what 'hermitage' was until seeing all the comments so I had to google it. All I can say is wow. Only if it was around yrs ago I would have brought my kids there, so they were always "safe", as opposed to all those other threatening ski areas they grew up on.

No Crust down around here, so I would imagine Jay is the same.

Give a shout Jon if you are coming up, sorry I missed you last time. But there was no snow to do anything cool.

Long hike with Vinman and cold smoke to get a not often skied steep line this morning in all the fresh snow from this week.

Haha, OK, I knew some of that would be coming with my name. No Bentley (leave that at home in the mansion's garage so snow doesn't get on it). But seriously, is there some way to cut the drive down to Jay? It seems like about 4 hours from W. Dover.

yowza, several weeks of taking care of injured and/or sick kids finally took its toll on the Ripper and I've got some grungy strep throat keepin me down now; looks like I'm armchair observing the transition of this great winter into a grand spring pow season... hope to get back out there soon; in the meanwhile, the stoke keeps my brain alive. Muchas gracias, ECRC
