How do you approach flashing a line while being filmed as compared to when you're not "on"? I mean, we see some amazing shit on film and I'm wondering how much of those incredible lines have been scoped-out from a helo, previous intel/experience, etc. versus how often they're flashed sight unseen.

Seth: I've heard you're a big fan of riding mountain bikes. What's your favorite trail to ride in Summit/Eagle County? Favorite place to ride anywhere?

i'm guessing you didn't practice hucking into air bags when you got started...describe for us how you progressed beyond human sized drops.

is there a height above which you were puckered no matter how many times you practiced it?

for those of us who will never drop anything taller than ourselves, is there a height at which it no longer matters how high it is? (ie, 35' = 50' = 75')

what are the ideal slope angles for safe landings?

at what height do you expect to just crater instead of stomping the landing & skiing out of it?

when you first stood on top of an alaskan spine, did you get advice on how to ski it?
do filmmakers give you notes on how to ride the slope?
have any directors pissed you off with requests? or asked you to do things you thought were too dangerous?

Explain me this. I have seen you do HUGE backflips/etc.. How is it you don't compress and crumble under the load of gravity? What is it with the physics I don't understand?

    This is a good example:

Oh, and by the way, is that in Lyngen, Norway?

Why did you, ultimately, decide Summit County was the place you wanted to base out of?

When you're not skiing, what does your day look like?

Why did my wife throw away my 2004 POWDER Gear Guide? My master plan was to have you sign it someday???????
Did you know my 5 year old kids name is Morrison? His favorite skier is JP(seriously). He loves to watch him ski "on the roofs."
Can you please bring back the punk tops from the seth pistol? Or at least the bases from the 05 model?
Should I have the operation where I cant have any more kids? 2 seems like plenty.

    Hi Seth,

My wife is pregnant with my 1st child, a girl. 2 questions.

    1. Any good girl name suggestions?

    2. Would you recommend that I get rid of my guns or just get a good safe and keep them?

You're the fucking man by the way, in my unprofessional opinion you turn the least and fucking murder shit. Love it!

    1) What do you think is the most important quality in a pro skier? What's the hardest part for you of your job?

    2) If you had to work a 9-5 job but you could do anything, what would you do?

Its all in the pop off the lip of the jump or cliff, you get that feeling of the rotation, your blind, your soaring, you see the ground coming into view, the feeling of Joy that makes you happy.

These days skiing in Europe has been the one of those places where lines are abundant from the lifts. Everyday your out you find places you have never been. Its about the adventure not the have to ski that big name line.

Obviously a topic of conversation. One step at a time. Perhaps someday.

I use the same boot as what you buy in the shop, there is enough movement while walking that I'm used to it. Salomon Guardians, Annex 188 in a 184. People make fun of me for using this set up in long walk situations, Haute Route etc. I would rather have a real set up on for the run, and this as close as thats gonna be when your walking. All the light gear is great for the up, not so much the down, different style.

The whole idea is to stay in shape so your ready for the task at hand. I have had to do way more riding and hiking to simulate a day in the mountains, for the climbing of runs and skinning in to get to the there.

Filiming with TGR in Haines, got off line, didn't know it took a blind air, looked at the landing, nothing but rock. Landed on rocks, tumbled through rocks, was ok! pack ripped up big dent in shovel blade, thats why you were pads if you are doing that stuff, I had a back protector on. Shovel blade took the brunt of the force.

    Both
    Both
    Both
Yes was stock piling boots, still have them as well as the parts.

I like Sage's story about the guy crashing and almost falling off a cliff after saying the call out. Thats the best you can come up with when you see a skier.

Its weird that people get so fired up about the exchange of a resort, no one likes change, think of it as what if the resort just closed up. Then what?

None, rock damage is the biggest thing (core shots, blown edges sidewalls) and that has only happened after skis get worked on by a machine and the thinner they get they quicker the rocks blow them up. I try to do as much hand tuning as possible, unless its obvious to get machine work.

Would you rather ski where theres great snow and lots of people or shitty snow and no people?
    Shit snow and no people.

Sure is, have you boyfriend take a sample with a meat slicer.

Do you think modern ski shapes have made it too easy, littering the slopes with people who can flip, spin, and straight line, but have no ability to carve an edge in a nice clean arc?
    Your out there.
