I agree that turkey is not my favorite fowl. That would be the bacon of the bird world, duck.

But hey, it's Thanksgiving and not being of a religious nature, it's my favorite holiday when I enumerate and fondle all the luck and good tidings from the magnificent mysteries of life.

(edit) Given the time of year and the mounds of goo needing swabbing we've decided to honor the season by the Consecration of The Fresh Sponge as well.
I put bacon on the turkey when I cook it.

Got up at 9:30, put on the traditional Thanksgiving uniform.. Cowboys jersey LOL. Lights up.. Round one of turkey and ham done. We're exhausted and sleepy even without any alcohol involved. Last of 4 pies in the oven.

Best to all you maggots, magettes, and yer groms;..

I should have remembered this PSA sooner:

You only need to cook turkey to 150* F. I'm not going bother posting a pasteurization curve, but I can assure you that it will be completely safe to eat and will be super duper moist.

I get the point. But wondering how would they put food on the table if we weren’t buying it?

    Are you ready to Roast?

I made an amazing turkey yesterday despite not being able to find our meat thermometer anywhere.

My husband is a great cleaner-upper helper after big meals etc so it’s hard to complain……But I almost started shedding a tear when I opened the trash and saw this.

I had a moment of “should I just take it out and rinse it.”
and I would be boiling the heck out of it anyway for the amazing soup I was planning to make today

Just guessing here but, I think this is more of a joke about the absurdity of Christianity than a statement on the economic place of Latin Americans in the world.

Rumor has it Santa is bringing me a new instant read thermometer. It was all I could think of yesterday while I was suffering through with my old slow one. Thermoworks is having a black Friday sale on their Thermapens. The also have great kitchen timers too which might also be under the tree for me this year
