Good thought, but everyone knows that Dean Cummings invented heliskiing.
Drive slow, homie.

You're going to have to track down more info. I can maybe help.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

The book on the history of skiing in Revelstoke has a picture of people going heli-skiing in 1964.

I have submitted the article at Ski History Magazine. They seem to be willing to look at it this season vs. somewere off in the future. We'll see what happens.

VERY cool video Mike!
It matches up with some still photos I have.
My research says this was in 1957. But, the music here is Herb Albert and The Tijuana Brass; The Lonely Bull.Last edited by Hacksaw; 01-04-2015 at 05:08 PM.

For the last couple years I have been researching the VERY early days of heliskiing history.
In the Fall 2015 issue of the Avalanche Journal (Canada’s avalanche association publication) a condensed version of my paper/article has been published.
It will be awhile before the article is available on-line. But, if you’re super interested, you can get a copy of the issue from the CAA.
It feels good to finally have my research published."True love is much easier to find with a helicopter"

We added a new page to the site yesterday, called "Evolutions." Check it out.
