Is there more house above? It shouldn't sag on 12" centers. And use 5/8"
In the past I've used green if there are plumbing or electrical holes, or if it's an enclosed space. On the last bathroom I put durock and tile around everywhere that might get wet, and used reg sheetrock for everything else because after skim coating, primer, and two coats of good bathroom paint it's pretty well sealed.
And don't skimp on the fan.

Yes, please use bath and kitchen fans. Attic moisture issues aside, it just breaks my heart to see nice wood windows/millwork get hammered by interior condensation.

I have about a 4" roundish hole in foundation wall with a 2" teck cable through it. Water is coming through the hole. Will spray foam insulation stop it or is there a fabulous product available designed specifically for my application?

The real fix is to dig down and seal it from the outside as well but DJs fix will last for a few years.

Probably going to be doing this at some point this summer. Have to dig down the foundation to find some odd water spot that only leaks when it rains/snowmelt hard/fast. Shit just trickles out right where the floor and wall meet. Good thing dad's got a backhoe.

Maybe this belongs here ....
I have a fence in my backyard that basically looks like this;
Looking to attach some sort of solid barrier to it to block wind and visibility. Can lash it directly to the fencing. Struggling to find product that might look nice. Thoughts?

Not sure if it's your vibe but I've put up this 4' tall rolled bamboo fence before. Looks decent, blocks views enough, and will offer some wind break.

for you guys with cracked foundations
I had a 5' above grade to slab foundation leak which soaked carpets in the suite i tried excavating & fixing with cement but it still leaked the next year with cold weatehr shifting the foundation
i got a guy in to do the plugging with a 2 part ureathane product and it 100% fixed the probelm ,
NO excavating, in fact you heap dirt up high on the foundation to keep the product in, it only requires cutting out 16" of wall between studs in the basement, buddy injected the product on the inside of the crack, it seeks out water and the product cures real quick
I wish I had done that before using the manual excavator (shovel) and plugging with cement which was hard labor/ didnt work anywayLee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know

Harbor Freight sells black mesh tarps but none are 4' . Maybe you can cut or get creative.
