I have those but for outside. Wouldn't want to use them in the barn.

You're halfway there. Google fan and pad cooler for greenhouses. I did some work on a greenhouse operation that had a homebrew system and it worked really nicely.

It cooled off here yesterday. Before that it was so hot that I was tempted to start boofing ice cubes. However I'm a wuss when it comes to HHH weather here in Northern New England. I wouldn't last a minute down south.

We've got 4 more days of this heat wave. I'm going to need a sweater when we drop to 90.

Renter just texted me - he can't get the AC unit to go below 76.

It's 109 and has been for days with nights not dipping below 70.

The house is a one story manufactured home surrounded by wheat fields (no shade trees protecting the house). Yes I'm going to call a service tomorrow. Yes I offered him my two Toshiba portable units that are brand new and unused (have for just this sort of emergency) but seriously... it's hot and at some point you're not going to get it down below 74 and probably shouldn't. I have mine set to 75 with blinds and unused rooms closed.

    Oof, not fun
The likely longer term fix is insulating the mfr’d home w/ 2” rigid insul on the outside…a/c might have a shot at keeping the interior decent. This will def happen next summer & the next…
For winter might need more insul at the crawl too

It's not that old and a top of line Marlette home. Thing is tight and really stays warm in the winter. Has a gas fireplace in the main room and multiple ceiling fans. Open floor plan, vaulted ceilings. 3b/3ba. Corner soaking tub. Walk in closets. Large laundry with storage etc. etc.

It’s tough to cool at 109. Cooling to 76 means a 33 degree temp difference.

Yeah that's what I told him but I'll call for service in the morning. I'm no slum lord.
