The North end of the valley is notoriously the hottest, due to the lack of much air movement (resisting urge to snark about political hot air output). You'll note how Redding and Red Bluff aren't predicted to have any significant chance of breaking any records. The biggest concern is more fire related.

Pretty wild that you were in Redding when it hit 120 repeatedly when their all-time high is 118. 🤣

You must have weather luck like my MIL, last time she came to visit was early June 2021 and it hit 107, now she’s coming tomorrow for a week…

I was just looking at the thermometers at people’s houses and the temps on the bank displays. We were mostly out by Cottonwood. One bank display in Redding read 122. I don’t know, it was fucking hot.

They say on Saturday we will likely hit 100 degrees in Helena for the first time ever in September.

92118 was doing pretty good (mid to high 70's) until Aug 31st. Now the A/C runs from 11am to 8pm and with the highest electric rates in the state, this coming bill will make me sad.

Mines been on since early June around the clock. I’d take that weather any day.

Salt Lake is currently at 28 days of 100+ degrees as of yesterday. All time record was 21 days in 2021, 1994 and 1960. Forecasted at least 5 more.

well it was a post by the US Nat'l Weather Service so I'm thinking they know what they are talking about.

Been chatting with my GF in SLC this morning and she's of the mind it's not bad and she doesn't mind the heat. Of course she has a big swimming pool and spends her days waterskiing at their lake house so YMMV.
