Periods of light followed by periods of darkness.
Seems like the usual heat and humidity here in the mid-Atlantic has not been bad this year but then we still have August and Sept. to get thru.watch out for snakes

We had a few days of 97-98 early last week, but dew point was down to 65. Hot, but not too bad. Low 90s this week, but t-storms pushed the dew point to 75. Blech. Looks like it’s gonna cool off a little heading into the weekend.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Well, here we go again. 103 on my car today when I went riding. Man, I was NOT feeling well afterward. I think I shorted myself in the pre-hydration for the day. All this week is supposed to be right around 100 for highs so I better do a better job of prepping. We had such a cool and wet May/June that I haven't had a chance to adjust to the heat. I would love highs around 75 for the next two months.

93F on Union Hill today. TFH.
As hard as it is to admit it, even I got tired of the grey gl00m and drizzle this year, so I guess it's about time. But when it's 80F at 20:00, that's too much. Looks like moderation is pending, at least temperature wise.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

Not ashamed to admit I'm just not a fan of temperatures over about 85 nowadays. I'd prefer it under 80.

So here we often play 3 set tennis matches in 80-85 degree; 80% plus humidity (9:00 AM start) this time of year that's not half bad. When my sons were playing tournaments they would play 3 3-set singles matches in a day when it was regulary 95 or so 80+% humidity. Which is half bad. How they didn't melt I'll never know. I guess in a very real sense in 20-30 years we'll look back and call it child abuse

Not just hot in Eastern/Central Washington, but has all the ingredients for significant man made wildfire threat. Man made because no lightning forecast. Assume this is true for most of the Western US:
