2014 Summer Solstice Inter Glacier 4000 Vertical Feet of Corn

Made it to the Inter Glacier and Steamboat Prow.

WhiteRiver Camp Ground by 7:30. 4200 ft elevation about.

Hiking up by 7:45. Started out bluebird.

Into Glacier Basin by 9:15. View of Mt. Ruth. Skinned from Glacier Basin at about 5900 ft elevation. Thin clouds starting to move in thankfully.

Into the gut of Inter Glacier by 10:00. Kudos to DPS. I skinned up to the steep section, then booted it for about 1000 vertical feet on the steep section (where one can just barely see the gaitered conga line) before going back to skinning.

More Mt. Ruth from the gut of IG.

Views on the Way. Baker, Glacier visible.

    Local Rock:

    Emmons Crevasses.

    Further down Emmons

    Kleine Tahoma

The final slog past the saddle to Camp Shurman. Elevation just shy of 10000. Summit of Rainier just another 4k vertical to go:

Then 4000 vertical feet of screamer honking big boater turns leaving me freaking heaving

    Tracks:

    I am played... but here's a nipple

That sucker beats me up something fierce.
