^ I've been holding off getting the SE, seems like a new model ought to be out relatively soon but that's not based on anything other than a gut feeling.

The Explorer came out less than a year ago, with many upgrades since then to the firmware, companion Earthmate app, and website trip planning functionality. So doubtful a new unit is coming out anytime soon.
