Latest Beer Trend: Growler Fills at Convenience Stores

We just had a new supermarket open up near here in Armonk. DiCiccos. It's a small supermarket chain known for it's beer selection. They outdid themselves in the new place. Half an aisle is taken up with hundreds of beers kept cold in glass cabinets, like the ones that hold your frozen food. But, the kicker is, upstairs in a balcony area is a beer bar with ten beers on tap, and growlers. Down below is the prepaid food section, so, grab some sushi, walk upstairs, try the new obscure IPA from somewhere, enjoy. Awesome. Beer heaven. Pool table, too.

Got my growler filled yesterday for ten bucks at Elevation Brewery in Poncha Springs. Amazing beer, great venue, super friendly locals, and great staff. My favorite brewery in all respects in Colorado. Highly recommend a visit. Just off the beaten path in Poncha. Great central location for ski/hike/bike/boat/fish ventures. A must stop by.

I got a loop of three that I do regularly when I go up to my buddys cabin in Cortland...

Ithaca, which just expanded and has a whole deal going there with vegetable gardens, horseshoes, hop trellises for shade...etc.

Hopshire Farms, a small startup with some great potential...

And Cortland Brewing Co., which has some really amazing stouts and high gravity stuff.
