Computer Mags - Keychain bug with Google Chrome on Mac

I've been using Chrome forever, and I like it over Firefox, or god-forbid Safari. I upgraded to Mavericks a couple of weeks ago and I keep getting this prompt whenever I'm using Chrome: "Google Chrome wants to use the login keychain." Entering my password turns it off for the next few minutes, but then it comes back. Canceling doesn't do anything except bring the same prompt back up.

I've tried a bunch of stuff, disabled keychain, tried to give access to Google without prompts, etc, but I can't get it to shut off. Google searches don't really turn up much other than a bug that sounds similar, but isn't identical, and has no good solution.

I'd rather not switch away from Chrome, but I will have to if I can't find a fix.

    Any suggestions?

PS - it's my work computer, so it's not porn-related.

Not a Mac expert, and you do not state the version of Chrome (latest is 31) but I would try resetting the Google Chrome back to default settings (backup the folder first if you find out it does not help and want to return to your preferences.)

Tried that already with no luck....

I just went into Google dashboard and turned off all of the synching, so hopefully the browser will stop trying to call the keychain.

Running the most recent version of Chrome.

Have you ever saved a password on that computer in Safari? Reason I ask is Safari saves saved login information to the keychain and chrome sees this as a generic webform password and wants access to the keychain.

So, next time it comes up, look at what website you are browsing at the time. Go into keychain access and search for that site. Delete the web form password that comes up that you previously saved with safari.

    Solved.

If that doesn't do it, I don't know what the problem is. But it is something that certainly is user specific because I use newest chrome on Mavericks and have for a while on two different machines and have never had this happen to me. I do know a few co-workers had a similar problem with constant keychain alerts popping up, but I think that was more to do with the way our IT has set up our computers and network.

I don't think I have, but I'll definitely look into it. Thanks.
