A New York State of Mind, some day in May 2014
*** Hey you rad motherfuckers, it's time to break out the sandpaper as another ECTR! gets added to the interwebs ***
The scene, NYS, morning.
Lacking a partner, and without the ability to go it alone sans heavy weaponry, Broke Some Ribs headed the call at 1:30am and joined me for our first ski in 3.5 years.
TGR comes through.
Headed up in the early morning light over the 59th. I never get sick of the view here, It's like a reverse King of New York where I'm an outdoorsy Christopher Walken that rarely kills anyone.
We arrive early to the snow line, teh global warmings is melting the glaciar at a rate of inches per day, but it looks like it goes.
BSR's hospitality in this corner of the world is legendary.
After which, it was time to ski some laps.
We made some turns on the headwall of many of EXPERTS ONLY terrain.
RTT3 had just been around for target practice, too.
BSR wanted to lead, so I let him route find over a snow bridge.

He had selected a route called ridicullisima, looked good to me.
Spring on a cliff is really cool.
people like this ledge:
But, approaching the top out and freezing cold in the wind, we decided to rap.
The ski down went almost to the car, too.
Burritos and Jalapeno Cornbread was consumed after but I have no evidence of that.j'ai des grands instants de lucididididididididi

The day was pretty hairy. I would say we barely threaded the needle to survive. Avy risk was the worst I'd ever seen it, with evidence of recent slabs cutting loose. The rapid warming didn't help either. Moments after the he snow bridge photo was taken, I experienced my first crevasse fall on the EC.
We're just glad to be back home with our families and loved ones.

Excellent report, obviously you were the best skiers on the mountain. Thanks for the Gunks stoke too, I have fond memories of high times there at this time of year, back in the day.
"... Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much: I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this: you will outlive the bastards." – Edward Abbey
