I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to
1) Beautyrest Black Series One Extra Firm. $2000.
2) Saatva Classic Firm. $2100.
3) Winkbeds Plus (Firmer than firm). $1700.

Dragging feet for sales. Hoping to spend closer to $1500

Saatva go on sale a lot of the time, usually on a holiday. I just did a brief search (‘Saatva sale’) and turned up:

Still love my Beautyrest Black after 13 years.

I got the "luxury firm." I'm a side/back/stomach sleeper (mostly side) and it's just me sleeping on it. Rotate weekly when I change the sheets. Not feeling a dip.

Edit/add: I should note that the mattress had a break-in period. The salesman suggested walking on it to loosen it up. Was def. a lot more firm initially than the broken in one I tried at the store.

You guys with the Saatvas, how pillow top like are they? We don’t want to sink in.

I don’t feel like I sink in at all. It’s just a little luxurious touch, softening the surface when I lie on it, and the mattress itself is very supportive…if that makes any sense.

My thoughts on pillow top is buy the right firmness non pillow top and then add the plush topper of your choice. The topper is essentially disposable.

That helps a lot, thanks. That’s how the BR Black felt. Regardless if they categorize it as a hybrid or an innerspring, these all seem to be a bunch of coils with [emoji639]-[emoji640]” of foam and a quilted top.

Nope, that Saavta is so comfortable with the 3" of latex on top I have never felt a topper close to it.

This is probably just me but the whole idea of sleeping on latex skeeves me out.

Is it hot? Does it get funky over time? How long does it retain it's loft?

I want to be able to replace the "pillow". It's a wear part in my opinion. I have a sleep number bed with a 3" topper I bought separately elsewhere. I purposefully didn't buy the more expensive sleep number with a built in foam pillow. My sleep number is 85, but I need a bit of foam to sink into. I'll be able to replace the foam this way.

Not hot. Ours must be 3 years old and feels new. I like it so much I may try a mattress with more latex in it next time.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I did a DIY full latex build with APM recently. Happy to advise if anyone is interested. It came out exactly how I wanted, though that wasn't surprising because we were also coming from a latex mattress (10 y.o. Pure Latex Bliss with zero sagging or issues), just upgrading size.

How did you saatva people decide which saatva to buy?

I’m looking at a size upgrade. Like our current Casper Hybrid although it isn’t perfect (bit too warm and so heavy that my wife struggles to change the sheets by herself).

I don’t want to sink into my mattress. I don’t want to be inside the mattress.
Like a nice chair. It needs to be firm, with just enough cushion that it doesn’t feel like a church pew.

Took delivery on a Costco Sterns & Foster, $999.99 delivered, 15 year warranty.

Pulled the trigger on a Beautyrest Black Extra Firm (no pillow top) for Seventeen Hundo. Delivery in a few weeks. That will be the next adventure as it sounds just like the cable guy, where I will need to take a day off work and hope they eventually show

edit: apparently the new Forum does not like conjunctions or double spaces after periods or ends of paragraphs

Where did you get it from? What size? That price sounds pretty good.

I recently bought a Sealy Posturepedic Plus Hybrid and I am sleeping like a baby these days. Best mattress I’ve ever slept on by far.

Such a weird industry. Fixed prices, so the local mattress/furniture stores aren’t allowed to have competitive pricing. The Series One retails for two thousand and that’s the price everywhere. Presidents Day sale has it at seventeen hundred everywhere.
Research suggests they only go on sale for Presidents Day and Black Friday. Direct from Beautyrest gets me the best return deal. One hundred days no questions asked zero fee free pickup. Local shops were all exchange only.

Such a sick deal! If they had that mattress in firm without a pillow top I would have been all over it.

Much firmer that my 15 yr old Sealy. Easy to forget how sweet a new mattress really is.

It’s MAP pricing but stores can sell it for whatever they want…..they can’t advertise it for less.
