but you’re right, linville gorge looks sweet. i think i have a Climbing from 83 or something with a multipitch 5.8 on the cover. would love to get down there someday.
As a routesetter I have to say the boulders in the pic seem to be set pretty badly. And super boring.

And most gyms here have their fair share of hot chicks in yoga attire. And hipsters. Luckily neither can climb so they don't grease up the few interesting problems.

I'd hate to be in Innsbruck. There would only be hipsters and young hot chicks warming up in my projects....

agreed, it doesn’t look like the best set from here (or the most inspiring gym) but all climbing is fun to me. plus the gyms have barely been open since last summer here. which is why i am surprised that my training plan which consists mostly of eating chips is paying off!

im really happy with the bouldering gym i started going to because the rope gym id been a member at was a covid denier. place is low key, fun, nice movement. it isn’t the worlds best but affordable and a good atmosphere.

can’t wait to be back really. kind of place i think super moon would like. wish i could upload some
dumb bouldering videos but this fucking app.

i don't know shit about bouldering or climbing gyms but i gotta say, the routes really don't climb well at all. yes, very boring, indeed. i need to figure out when the hot chicks in yoga attire come round. i've been going mid-morning with no luck. i'll try an evening this week.

University chicks start showing up no earlier than 5 or 6pm as a rule of thumb.

    Climbing Stoke

another day at the outdoor gym. the moderna vax did not help my climbing! but i took a pic of a nice girl top roping a tricky 9 on the STD wall while making the walk of shame to rap and free my draws from vol du nuit 11 c/d.

still no bugs, so we got that going for us.

    next time, vol!

    Climbing Stoke

outdoor gym continues to provide. after failing to lead vol du nuit i finally worked it out on tr. did some other good stuff too, just fun short routes (the longest routes are about 7 bolts). anyway whatever it lacks in vert was made up for in mileage and my hands are shredded. what a day.

camera stayed mostly in the bag but here’s one from the grotto, same angle as before but not me leading this time.

only bad news was that the bugs were out. not get in the car bad but getting close. killed probably ten mosquitos. alas.

this is a guy i met last summer who gave me a belay so i didn’t have to TR solo anymore that day. nice kid, he’s going to be a good climber soon (it’s his second season).

my old old gym (not the covid deniers) dropped a new bouldering vid. some good stuff in here, i can’t believe these lines are still being cleaned up so close to montreal.

bailing off pitch 2 of Camay at mont pinacle. didn’t feel like going for the monster last pitch in the rain with a light rack. tbh i felt under equipped for the last 60m even before i felt the drops. the route traverses left and then up this big dihedral before finishing on some slab with somewhat marginal gear. i guess i felt bold before i got in the car trying to beat the rain with 12 slings, a few tricams, nuts, and single rack of totems but looking at it i wish i brought the kitchen sink. very nice place though, hadnt been in about five years. so much potential is left there for the bold.

solid work all. love the pics.

spent the weekend at City of Rocks, perfect temps and great climbing. pulled off a few onsights I felt super proud of - it's nice to be back in the saddle after ski season.

here I am on a line called tickled pink - 5.9 stemming up to a roof, with steep and sustained 5.10 crack and face climbing above

I think I'd like to go to City of Rocks over just about any climbing destination in the western US except maybe Devil's Tower. It looks so cool.

Found a pretty cool zone to learn trad climbing if someone is planning to go climbing down south.
