I cannot say enought great things about this crew. Just an amazing group of characters that all shared the same goal: GET SOME THRILLS AND HAVE A GREAT TIME. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. There were no egos and everyone worked together and pulled their share (literally hahaha) to make it happen.
Special shout out to ISBD, ML242, and CAT in Jan for the photos and the organizing.
I made some great friends from the trip and look forward to sharing adventures again soon.
Strong work everyone. Praise Ullr. You took too much man, too much, too much

^^^ Moops you forgot to mention the fact that you had a ridiculous cold and the day before we went in you woke with a 104 temp. Miraculous recovery and Herculean effort. Next time please bring the mini bar, kegarator and flat screen! Comeback kid award and all around "Big Toe"!

HA HA [think simpsons kenny] It was wisdom when I was talking to the Ranger and saw his sled with a propane tank rolling aroung loose in the sled, looked like just enough space for my sled. This allowed me a casual ski down the 3.2 miles to Roaring Brook.
It sure stuck in your craw though. I laughed when I got to the Abol bridge and you jumped out of your car with the greeting "You're a fucking cunt". I never overlook a helping hand.
Thanks for cleaning all of the cars off.
I also posted a bunch of new images. on the first page.Last edited by Vt-Freeheel; 04-07-2014 at 08:14 AM.

Just want to give props to one of the original bad ass maggots, Teddy Roosevelt, for helping to preserve the awesomeness that is BSP.

Sincere thanks for posting this -- like probably 99.9% of backcountry skiers in the east, I've never been to Katahdin, but have always been curious about it, and this is by the far the best trip report I've ever seen.

Awesome, thanks for sharing fellas!
Katahdin and Baxter State Park are dear to my heart. I've never been in the winter and am not 100% sure I'd be up for the slog to Chimney Pond, but TR's like this affirm my enjoyment of TGR. I still have fond recollections of last year's (I think) worthy TR of skiing the Chimney.
