    Scot Schmidt - SFTV

I had the honour of spending a week back in February with Scot Schmidt. The guy is awesome! Thought the folks here might appreciate this one.

was just about to post this.

been loving this seasons fst but this just takes it to a new level for me.

I remember seeing Blizzard for the first time when I went to MHSSC. Used to watch it every chance we got. Movie changed my view on skiing. Funny that I just received my Blizzard poster yesterday signed by Stump. Can't wait to frame it and put it on my bathroom wall.

    respect.

Watched it this morning. It really hit home I absolutely idolized him growing up. Great job.

Warren Miller's Ski Time was the first ski movie I ever saw, on a day home sick from elementary school. I still remember Miller's deadpan narration: "Scot Schmidt, his parents raised him...wrong." I made my Dad make a copy of it on VHS.

Awesome. I think almost everyone in my generation of skiers tried to emulate his style in the air on on the snow. I've still got all those pullout posters of him from Powder on my wall in the gear room downstairs. Great vid Mike!

    Shit if it wasn't for Mike D I wouldn't be a skier.

Seriously... The New Canadian Air Force changed my life with the twin tip ski!

(Blizzard of Ahhs came out the year I was born)

Definitely was an influence for me, along with Hattrup, Plake and Jungst.

And if I've worked the timeline out correctly I can see why you gave up skiing Hokkaido pow.

Growing up I wanted to be Scott Schmidt so badly. Now that I see what he's up to in his 50's, living the slope side cabin life and crushing it every day, I want to be him even more.

    Nice work, MikeD

Many thanks miked for the best ski movie short of this season. You & Scot brought me to the edge of tears. I love your work.

PS - is Scot Schmidt the "haus bro" @ Yellowstone Club or something? What a cool position he seems to have. Oh and nice one second cameo there from Warren by the way!

The Legends still kill it. Awesome that Schmidt, Hattrup, and Plake still ski and ski hard with passion.

Thanks guys! I'm happy to see you liked what we put together. Not always easy to do an icon like Scot justice.

Most excellent. Out of all of those guys, Schmidt was the one I admired the most and wanted to emulate, just so fluid and dynamic. Watching the current footage of him ripping around, yeah I want to go ski with Schmidt.
