Any of you familiar with minecraft/Funland?
My kid is all jazzed on this shit.
Found a few 'stampy' downloads, but I am not sure if they will work with apple devices.
Thoughts?
Funland 3.1 (RAR file) via Mediafire (18mb)
Funland 3.1 (ZIP file) via Mediafire (18mb)

I think it costs $27. Why are you messing with .RAR files?
(maybe I'm wrong?)

I actually played the game for a while because I wanted to see what my daughter was so obsessed about. I still didn't get it, but concluded that ti was mostly harmless (other than spending hours in front of a screen rather than out in the world exercising). It's pretty cheap, like $20, so you might as well pay for it. It's a highly social game, so it is worth monitoring waht your kid is up to, at least a little bit, and it's worth talking to them about never giving up personal data to strangers. But it is likely that your kid's friends and classmates are also playing, so they might not even be interacting with strangers, if someone has set up a server that is open only to locals and friends.

minecraft is all well and good at first and then it becomes an obsession
we refuse to hold minecraft conversations anymore with the boy
they just banished it recently from the school's computers (only ever used during the afterschool program)
pokemon is another (albeit analog) kid obsession right now

Minecraft
Yes, minecraft is a very addictive game. However, it's actually not so bad, because it can develop a lot of skills. Those kids that are playing minecraft are very creative, and this is really cool. I have created a special server for my son and his frind, by using a minecraft hosting, and I allow him to play a couple of hours per day. I think that it is ok, and he likes it very much, but without obsession

Yep.
If you have an old pc let them use that. Once they start downloading game hacks from the interweb you may find yourself having to reload your o.s. And factory resetting your ‘puter
For some kids it’s a virtual LEGO. And costs less money than those overpriced plastic bits.. . .

Have you not read Ready Player One? Good luck finding legos in a decade. It’s all going on virtual.
I suspect Minecraft has some staying power. It is kind of like coding for dummies allowing you to create a virtual world. Some version of that will be around for a long long time.
