TR: The best of the weird

It's been a strange winter in these parts, like in many. It was unusually warm and there was unusually little snow in half of the Alps, while the other half got buried. We were mostly on the non-buried side. Nonetheless, there were good days in between the groomer cruising and january slush. Last week it snowed for the first time in over a month. Before, march felt like june. After, it felt like winter again.

After a few days that were pretty much the best of the season we are back to breakable not quite corn and wind crusts and I don't want to be productive, so here is music and some pictures.

    Artsy freak skinning

    We did the usual stuff.

    I worked some.

    Blergh.

    It finally snowed.

But the wind never really went away.

    Sometimes it didn't matter.

But generally things were all sorts of messy.

    We worked the cardboard.

And made sure not to miss occasional dustings.

I purchased a ski touring skirt.

    It's awesome.

    There was sunshine

    And sahara dust.

And, of course, more of the usual.

    Marius & freak

    Marius

    Quick afternoon outings with friends.

    Visiting visitors.

    In my favourite places.

    Some more wind

    Some more skinning.

    Some more skiing.

And just when we thought summer was here, winter came back.

    Oh yes, it did.

The work of two mornings. We caught up to euromag Nordekette braking trail and he outed himself as an internet skier, so we did too. Now we're bros IRL.

    Another Marius appearance.

    Me, rather happy.

And freak in black and white because my camera makes disco colours.

    Disco sun!

Maybe freak wants to contribute some more pictures, he has a bunch.

    Super sweet, per usual.

What was the bed surface in that slide photo? Looks super smooth, like a rock slab or even asphalt.

That's about the mirror description as SW Colorado, where the San Juans are now covered with Utah & Arizona dust (vs Sahara dust) after major winds. Spring started in January.

Grass. Lot's of glide cracks and resulting slides in the regions with tons of snow. that one appeared next to the parking while we were skiing.
