No, they announced that that the pilot programmed the course change 12 minutes before the "all is well, good night". They also said it is common for pilots to do this as a precaution. That way, if something goes wrong they can change course to the closest airport quickly and easily. It fits the fire theory perfectly.

I think the point is if the cockpit is on fire from take off, then why would the pilot say all is good?

I'm not buying the Wired smoke theory, either. Without going into details regarding stretches of the imagination in the article, I'm pretty sure someone in the cockpit would notice the stench of acrid burning rubber before key systems started failing.

Also, there are so many systems on different electrical busses that it's highly improbable that they all failed at once, before a radio call could be made and an emergency descent commenced.

While it's true that Aviate, Navigate, and Communicate are prioritized in that order, It's possible to do all three at once. Especially if you're on fire, you're going to start an immediate emergency descent. If the crew was incapacitated during the course of that descent, the plane would have hit the ground. Like Value Jet.

Pilot didn't know until after? Then set the plane to follow the new route?

completely intact landing or crashing in the jungle. doesn't seem likely. plus it's the daily mail. they probably paid some intern to make that image up.

For some reason (possibly dyslexia) the plane over the jungle looks upside down.

Yeah, but read again. He is implying that somehow God is in control of the plane, and, if the heathens aboard recognize the error of their ways, and turn to Christ, the plane still has a chance to land safely. Let us all pray for that.

    That's a 737.

I boiled my thermometer, and sure enough, this spot, which purported to be two thousand feet higher than the locality of the hotel, turned out to be nine thousand feet LOWER. Thus the fact was clearly demonstrated that, ABOVE A CERTAIN POINT, THE HIGHER A POINT SEEMS TO BE, THE LOWER IT ACTUALLY IS. Our ascent itself was a great achievement, but this contribution to science was an inconceivably greater matter.

Very nice of the pilots to give the trees a break when crash landing into the dense jungle too.

What horseshit. They could say "it appears to show an airliner in the skies above the jungle" but it certainly doesn't appear to show flight MH370.

Indeed, either they're saying the photo was taken from above...or they're saying the plane was in the sky. Either way it doesn't seem like it's MH370 as some have said it's a 737 and then there's this:

It is unclear whether the above Tomnod image even shows a Malaysia Airlines plane. Commentators have suggested the coloured ring towards the tail seems more like the paint scheme of Qantas than Malaysian Airlines.

It doesn't look like Malaysian Air livery--more like UPS.

In case anyone is interested , the nosewheel well on the B777 is not monitored for fire but the main wells are.

You can find that shit (and more) here...
