They’ll be parking people in Summit Cove and bussing up.

Quite possible. It is amazing how the new lift and terrain has really spread folks out. Take a few hikes up EW or out the gullies to extend the runs anyway.

Could be a 'perfect shitstorm' type of weekend.
Storm/snow + holiday weekend + Vail/BC blackout + more traffic this season than ever before at ABasin = ?
I used to hike 2 hours for 10 minutes of turns on 207 gs skis, without needing “skins” or “hike mode.” Tell me again how I’m a gaper.

Epic Keystone-Abasin pass is blacked out on 16/17 both locations

Epic Summit Value is blacked out at Breck on 16/17

Epic Local is blacked out at Vail/BC on 16/17

    Full Epic = no blackouts

Ikon Base = no blackouts at Copper/WP

Maybe everyone will go storm chasing to CB. Brace yourself down there.

Problem is with these multi-mtn passes, everyone goes everywhere. That said, everyone should just go to Breck.

Best ski day I ever had at Abasin when I was doing the front range thing was a 15" report and I 70 closed all morning due to a gnarly wreck. We had ski on chairs until after noon... I think it was 12 years ago and was on either this or MLK weekend, but probably President's Day weekend.

It was really fun sending the same lines for 3-4 runs then moving to the next one knowing you could just move over an inch and avoid your own bomb hole.

Doesn't the law of averages hold that on some random day, everyone but you will choose to go somewhere else and you'll have the entire mountain to yourself?

Can't wait till it's my turn.

Hopefully the photos of semis being blown off 285 by the ice/ wind plus the reports of silver queen being shut down today does the trick.

LOL. I, too, wanted to skip the AM work but ran into some stuff i had to do. Boulder County (SVVSD?) schools are closed today also I think.

Tomorrow's gonna be fun too with it snowing right during the lemming hour.

So the morning commute of people trying to catch a Friday powder day is going to back up into the onslaught of people coming up for the long weekend.

And here I am just trying to get to Moab. Fucking epic.

Vail Pass is closed for Avalanche work. If I wanted to sit in traffic I'd move to Denver

Denver West was crowded on the roads and parking lots this morning, but the hills were not that crowded, and the snow was surfy. Still parked in the lower lot at 8:45am and waited in only short lines.

Weird how they don't tell anyone before or during their VP avy work closures. Seems like it might help people plan ahead and not create such a cluster.
