how much of that "road" was created trying to recover the truck? It looks to end abruptly at the truck.

Also - if you look at the USGS topo quad for the area, it *does* show a road going up there.

But... you know - use your noggin you dumb fucker.

Youthful exuberance partly to blame, perhaps?

the part in the foreground shows no damage/disturbance, so it wasn't created just to get him. But he should have turned around way before he did.

I think traffic will be fine this weekend (just like last weekend). Prime leaf-peepin' doesn't start for another week or two.

Do you have a problem sir? Please place your comment in the box at the entry to the server fan cube and then light and throw away the old fire extinguisher on your way out. And LNT with your #2, we aren't in bidet budget yet. Thanks for flying, we love your vibes!

And please take this short survey to rate your experience, we really do appreciate it!

I guess a good chunk of that traffic must be local arrival/departures.

pretty basic it's four lane highway with a massive amount of on going development
costco just opened huge amounts of warehousing and thousands and thousands of homes/apartments/condo/hotels being built
with zero fucks given to roads and planning

but don't worry the city of denver is performing a study right now as I type this so they can figure out what to do
plenty of groups are lined up to sue the city if they decide to make it an 8 lane highway
cause you know more lanes creates more traffic
instead everyone is going to take the train the bus ride their bike and magically float on unicorns rainbows and farts

you cannot approve that much development without a real plan
    but it's colorado we can

6am sounds early, but for an airport anyone driving in at 6am is right in the wheelhouse of "normal" morning departure times.

Not to worry, after 2 years of planning and 4 years of construction, we will have a beautiful new toll lane on Pena.

If you see the amount of multi family residential development occuring along Pena you can get a feel for the future traffic jams that are coming

Went to pick my wife up at 10:30 today - Peña was again, predictably, packed to the gills. Moving along, though, and surprisingly little in the way of dum-dum driving going on.

They need another main access road to the airport that is not a toll. Pena is a bottleneck (especially if there's an accident) and an extra lane won't fix that.

You know... it might be worth it to drive I-70 east to the E-470 interchange and just take the toll road for that last few miles just to avoid Peña.

ETA: $2.65 for that stretch. I think I just found my new route to DIA.
