Definitely a good idea to drive Berthoud, then 70, without a tire, in the winter. Wow.
That rim will dig, it'll turn like it's on rails. Cops probably pulled them over to say thank you for not running summer tires.

I like leaving at 2pm on Saturday, spending the night, then heading back around 10am. I can get back and forth from hira to suco in less than 2 hours most of the time.

There was also a decent fender bender on my way down. Some car was facing down into the ravine but luckily a tree stopped it. Slick out there this am, and pretty cold.

    Or even simpler ... If month > 10 and month < 6, pass-status = "closed".

Seriously however, I've been surprised the times it was open, when I would have thought it wouldn't have been.

I still remember one drive - not because of traction, but rather visibility. Visibility was around 15-20 feet (driving it at 5mph and white-knuckling).

A webcam check might have been useful. Still gotta use your smarts ;-)

My buddy drove up about a half hour behind me and he used his GPS (not phone GPS) to help him figure out where the road was.

I don't know where else to put this but be sure to catch the new AFW commercial where Jake Jabbs shows up in a DeLorean - complete with burning tire tracks and says something about prices that make you think you've gone "back in time"... LOL>

Was headin back down from the basin yesterday and was wondering if he still did commercials.

Knowing who Jake Jabbs or Tom Shane is should be a pass/fail requirement to CO residency

Thankful for Winter Park the other day... Checked I70 west and it was a mess. We had thought about Copper which would have been terrible seeing all the folks in the parking lot on the highway not moving!

No I70 bitching today? OK I'll start. took 1.5 to get from Avon to Dillon, behind plows going 15mph to the top of VP. Heard WB was closed at the tunnel.

What is it with people thinking that they all should be in the left lane when it snows? Passed 100 cars on the right this am. Not trying to be a dick here folks, but there's two fucking lanes yo!

My granite sat on 70 for three hrs this morning. Had four people sitting around doing nothing waiting. Cost me Six Hundred Dollars. Who do I send the bill to? Cdot? Or the owners of bald tire cars?

If you find out, let me know. I have 2300 lbs of grain still sitting out there.
