Nice work SFB! I am traveling and out of town until the middle of June so I am living vicariously through everyone else on here. Hope to see you in the south lands in a few weeks!
Chet, the good news is the blue wings have them looking up so dries are highly likely. 10 days could be pushing close to the high water flows though.... I haven't heard any dates rom the BLM yet on releases you met check before heading over.Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?

when and for how long do they typically release? does that usually kill the streamer fishing or help it out? I may be heading out there the weekend after next so I'll have to keep an eye on that.

It totally depends on a spawning sucker fish ( I can't remember it's name) typically it is late May when the start dumping. Usually last about 2 weeks. Streamer fishing can be off the hook (pun intended), get fish out of their normal holes and seems to make them tense and aggressive!

I finally killed the skunk that's been hounding me along the creek on my friend's farm. Unfortunately the big fat Rainbow leapt out of the net 5 seconds after this pic was taken...
Also caught a nice little local Brookie:
Al in all not a bad 1.5hr of fishing. Nice to slap the water again after a 2 year break.

^^^^ hell yeahs but just so you know
all the cool kids quit wearin vests a year and a half ago
all about he bandolier/sling
l8apx was in my flyfishing mag tellin me so
traditionaly they try n time that flaming gorge discharge to match the yampa peak runoff
how long??
who knows
hopefully short n sweet and the 800 ramping to 1.6-2.0k and back down over night traditional summer discharge."When the child was a child it waited patiently for the first snow and it still does"- Van "The Man" Morrison

There is some kind of agreement where the Flaming Gorge flows have to match the flow (or a percentage of it) coming from the Yampa. When the Yampa spikes, they are obligated to bump the Green. And as the Yampa is basically not regulated the timing is anyones guess?
Do I have that right? I know I'm in the ballpark, at least.
And Tipp is that supposed to be a troll with the brookie comment?

yup it based on the yampa
but i don't know if there is a set length of time as that varies
or if they'll go full bore both spillways 8880 or whatever it is"When the child was a child it waited patiently for the first snow and it still does"- Van "The Man" Morrison

Yep, it is based on coordinating the high flows in both river, a big part of it(not sure it is all of it) is to maximize the benefits of the spawning squawfish.

That being said, it is anybody's guess on when and how long, personally I think they have a dart board in the office to make their decisions.Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?

Mid June can be excellent around here. Not on the snake but plenty of other options.

I am actually considering a property purchase on one of those "other options" which Is why I would like to get there before mid June so I can do some legwork. And of course get out on a river with you for a bit...
