Anyone make a sled with old skis ?

Thinking about making a sled for the kids with old skis and wanted to poach someone's kickass deisign. Let your inner McGyver shine here.

A customer was planning to make a Klondike sled using Binding Freedom inserts and old skis:

I took an old Flexible Flyer sled and mounted my old skis on the rails. It was scary fast, not great control, but a thrill ride for sure.

I recently mounted up old skis to a snow racer sled. Minor increase in speed and major loss of control.

Human powered XC trail setter. Made from stuff I had laying around. Fill the sled with snow and set you own track. By the time the track was set I was done for the day. Good for hauling stuff too.

A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.

If all you do is drill a sled to some old skis, like I did a few days ago, you will realize that with ANY kind of double fall line, the sled is uncontrollable. Ya gotta have some way to steer it, and my son and I discovered, without injury thankfully, that the "fred flintstone" technique does not work.
