NBC spent 15 minutes hyping them up before the first race. They were like "ohhhh the Dutch are soooooo jealous of these." Oops

+ two million. I miss getting the CBC broadcast that showed (shocker) the actual events - ALL of the event, not just clips of the top Americans.

Super happy to see Perfect North representing with Nick Goepper and his bronze last night. Got to watch that kid grow up on a 200' terrain park and become an absolute ripping skier.

Skiers went fucking huge in slope in general. The physics are just so much better for them than the snowboarders - hence so is the style, tricks, and watchability.

And seriously you old fuckers, what is this gapicski? First, it's called Arials, not freestyle jumping, it's been in the games since 92 so you all should be able to remember it. Secondly you all sound like the old fucks you are with your bitching about these new schoolers and their damned spinny flippy shit. Get off my lawn indeed.

BBC full coverage has been excellent, as well as accompanied by decent commentary.

And they had consultation from Lockheed Martin on air flow...might be time to revisit that F35 program.

People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

no shit. they probably only used lockheed martin for the surface, not the design. honestly, pretty fucking stupid when you look at them. it's easy to see how in a sport that depends on fractions of seconds that catching air down your back inside your suit is going to slow you down.

i don't know if it's an excuse or not, but it's pretty funny.

It's surprising they allow men's figure skating. Have any of them been reported missing yet?

That's the kind of spirit we need more of in the Olympics.

If the modern Olympics were held *truly* in the spirit of the first olympics, the competitors would be naked.

    No excuses!

we don't have 'tv' and have been watching the on demand replays on the CBC website, while running adblock...it's perfect, no stupid BIO bullshit, no listening to commentators drone on interviewing people, just straight up sport, it's actually made the Olympics more interesting again, especially not having to watch ads every 10 minutes too, it's great.

Is there really a difference if the coach of an athlete vs a parent set the course? Coach happens to be parent.

Love watching the the CBC coverage and watching skeleton. Had an idea that I'd like to give it a try once but thought again after standing at the finish line of this World Cup event at Lake Placid in 1994. My little brother shows up at 4:55 in a yellow helmet.
