I bought one of these and I'm psyched on it. The whole thing is very creative and executed well IMO, which shouldn't be a surprise I guess since Travis has always been pushing limits his entire career. Streaming the contest now! Glad to support Travis and all the amazing athletes.

01-28-2022, 05:18 PM #7028Hey d-bag - here's something for you to think about: maybe (just maybe) not everybody here has their little panties in a wad 24/7 and flies into a rage whenever somebody disagrees with them. Maybe these same mags don't take this place uber-seriously. Maybe this even includes the vast majority of the people who post here as opposed to you and like 20 other thin-skinned douchebags. Just something to think about. -JER

Then you missed this part amongst other truths:
“There is an environment of toxic positivity where doubt is aggressively policed. Doubters are ostracized so that it chills discussion about a project’s viability. All concerns are just FUD. Questions that would be banal on an investment forum are treated as hostile.”

Only a small amount or time on BTC, I thought it was a good take on current affairs.

You should be all ears and nose for when somebody is using the airwaves to talk some sort of book. Like Scaramuchi above.

So you actually believe somebody that is probably worth more than France, and made that money IN THE STOCK MARKET, says that the whole thing is going to come tumbling down, and you should sell and get out?
Idiot. You deserve to be poor when you're old

Where did I say that. You're assuming a lot. I find it useful to listen to a bunch of different things and make up my own mind. No one really knows.
I'm an idiot b/c I think younger people should.allocate some percentage to BTC?
All you seem to be good at is arguing on the internet. I believe there is a good chance btc and other projects are going to be very successful. It's that simple.
I'm 47. I've been saving and investing for 30 years. I don't claim to know shit. I highly doubt I'll be poor when I'm old.
For certain, one thing I won't be is a mean douche that noone wants around, much less posting constantly and contributing nothing.

You said: " I thought it was a good take on current affairs."
No, it isn't. He's not doing that to help you. He's doing that to help him. Just like all the other snake oil salespeople and three card monte players you post as some sort of wisdom. It's sad, because there's going to be a ton of crypto followers eating dog food at age 65, if they make it.

^ I find it entertaining there is such vitriol and opposing opinions in the BTC space.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.over the next 10 years.

Easy. Dollar cost averaging into equity index funds up to age 40 or so, automatic contributions from paycheck or checking accounts, put it on auto pilot, ignore it except for annual re distribution. Buy a house or even two. Marry a woman who also works and isn't a spender, and stay married to her. Dont spend money on stupid shit.

Whatever, bluebenny. You continually scold me for "my tone" but you guys are all fellating this asshat who at 23:30 proclaims that crypto devs don't know anything about money/finance (the industry they are trying to disrupt) and shortly thereafter says it's easier to make an improvement over Bitcoin "because Bitcoin sucks." The dude isn't making good faith arguments and for the amount of production that went into his video, he comes across as way too subjective. The former claim is laughable. There is a huge brain drain of tradfi peeps into crypto that has only been accelerating. As for the latter point, BTC has accomplished many notable things, mainly that it's the most secure network in the history of humanity. Anyone who has actually sent large sums of money permissionlessly will tell you that the experience is awesome.

This was probably the most cognizant take on Crypto's ethos and current state that I've watched. In the end, it's all the exactly same motivations and behaviors as there ever was - absolutely nothing new under the sun.
I've wanted to give the underlying technology & architecture a 2nd look so been going over the bitcoin O'reilly book. Clever stuff but I'm left with the same impression I had about 8 years ago...which is this scales extremely poorly and lacks practicality to be used as currency. With that, I don't see me in coins for investing or an asset vehicle - maybe speculation trades. It just isn't what people want it to be. Tho I could see doing some investment in a crypto adjacent area; feast, famine or war there's money to be made in the cycle.
Now, in spirit of keeping an open mind, if someone wants to share a counter point/response video - I'd watch that too.
