I guess by even mentioning this I'm shilling it. But Luna shills get a pass so I think I'm ok.

Strong buy. This is financial advice.

From all this defensive back and forth you managed to lose your sense of humor along the way. And my boss is an asshole.

Here's a game. You have 10,000$. You have buy 3 crypto s. You have to hold for 10 years. You have to spend equal amounts on each(3,333$)

    Which 3 do you buy?

I think I'm BTC, eth, doge.

Again we are not allowed to mention doge or any shitcoins in here. LUNA is allowed despite it ruining people's lives.

I'd go with BTC, ETH, and maybe HBAR.

There are a handful of others trying to do the same thing as HBAR so unclear what horse to bet on if you had to pick one.

Here's some miner death spiral porn for you bears to chew on. Interestingly, there's not a single mention of BTC's automatic mining difficulty adjustment. Was that omission intentional, or out of naivete? We can only speculate.

That was really good thanks, jibes with my understanding of what's going on.

I have been wondering if/when the big new US mining operations were going to capitulate. They have a LOT of debt. Miner capitulation can mark a bottom for sure.

Here's the plot twist - China is not really out of the mining business. They are still appx 20-30% of world-wide hash rate. And the summer wet season is imminent where they will get hydro almost free, maybe $.02/kWh for the coming months. It is in their interest to push bitcoin price down now and maybe get some competitor units offline, try to get the hash rate down.

Another plot twist - Bitmain has announced next gen asics (https://shop.bitmain.com/product/det...39CHAR8f2i0636) scheduled to ship this coming October. Very convenient timing since Bitmain has a long history of running their advanced equipment before selling it. Dovetails perfectly with the summer wet season.

You say DCA, that is exactly what I'm doing under my house!

Intel BTC ASICs supposed to start getting delivered in Q3 too. But I think the first ones are going to bigger mining companies rather than the little guys. Wouldn't be surprised to see a delay either.

Oh yeah, intel, heh. They haven't demonstrated anything competitive yet. We'll see.

When price is subject to the weather in China or Texas it feels more like a commodity than a store of value *shrug*

"It feels" - sounds like you have a rigorous understanding.

It also sounds like you are griping about renewable energy. Do you think the bitcoin network goes down when it's wet or cold?

Now that I think about it, I can understand that you would not see the store of value proposition, given your statement. That's ok, it's just early and sometimes I forget that other people just don't know (yet).

My point is that the network is not going down, ever. Well, not as long as we have computers able to run, so maybe a global wide EM pulse would take it down, along with every other computer. But as soon as any nodes and miners fired back up they would synch and continue automatically as though nothing happened.

Shera I’ve done plenty of research on the current and potential future of the Texas power grid under different scenarios. None of my research involved watching YouTube videos, however, so might not be rigorous in your eyes.
