^what else are they going to do with their dollars?
their buying our debt enables us to buy their goods
second, if they don't buy the dollars, the renminbi would increase in value versus the dollar, there by decreasing the value of the goods they sell us

These guys think its useful.
Last month bitcoin was used in a freight deal sent from Russia to Turkey, according to a firm called Prime Shipping Foundation (PSF). The settlement was part of a pilot the company is testing that features blockchain-powered settlements for large commodity consignments.
The ship carried PSF’s 3,000 metric tons of wheat from the Russian region of Rostov to Samsun, Turkey. The freight deal made in cryptocurrency shows that these types of payments could bypass international sanctions in those areas. According to Vikulov, his firm is planning to get licensed in Gibraltar because the country has been more favorable towards cryptocurrency solutions.

Bought Tron for $0.07 a coin on its big dip, gonna hold at least until their March 31st beta release. I am way more interested in these cheap-o alt coins than just holding LTC/ETH/BTC or whatever and hoping it grows a bit.

This is where the crypto evangelists lose me. I was at a conference this last week talking with a colleague who’s all in on this crypto thing. He kept jumping between its investment value and societal value. Eventually I realized that he was so fervent that he forgot their was a line at all. If I want to make money, I have one lens. If I want to save the world, I have another. Anyone who presumed you can put both those lenses in one pair of glasses isn’t seeing straight. I’d like to be proven wrong though.

I meant that more like I'm just annoyed that a bunch on people such as kinnikinnick (look above...dude doesn't even have an original thought...just snipes us with some generic link and runs) have nothing better to do but come in this thread and post negativity. They are like Mtn Girl every time some one posts a titty. Jeff Sessions doesn't post in the weed thread, does he?

Bitcoin....who's gotten into it?
Oh come on. I’ve posted links but I’ve also posted lengthy personal thoughts on BTC et al.
Yeah I’m negative on the current form of BTC in particular, so what? You think that this should be BTC stoke only thread?
It’s amazing how the price keeps bouncing back to $11500 ish though.

It's up to you if you want to be a hater. It's a pseudo-free country. But I don't go in the IPA thread to start calling people a bunch of drunks and say that Pliny the Elder has no value.
