Very awesome. I was in Central Otago in October 2012 for my honeymoon and the river at the bottom of the canyon looks sweet. The entire area is great. Everything was blown out so I didn't get to wet a line the entire time I was on the south island, which sucks becuase I was there for almost a month. Oh well...the anniversay trip will be in December when we do it :-)
If you ever get a chance to go, that area is worth spending some time. Great wine, great rivers and great people."We had nice 3 days in your autonomous mountain realm last weekend." - Tom from Austria (the Rax ski guy)

I think I've watched it about 37 times so far today. Next fishing summit in NZ?

That was about as awesome and as frustrating as it gets. I am fine going there if anyone else wants to.

Im pretty sure i have seen that before, in my dreams. Thanks for sharing that was very very cool. So when are we leaving for New Zealand?

Fuck, those are some tanks. The girth just below the tail is unreal.
I was down on the South Island a while back and saw a similar deal, only with bright red damsels and rainbows instead of browns. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. The fishing down there is unreal.

from someone who does not understand the ups/down ins/outs of los trout, i really enjoyed that...can't imagine what that's like from a trouter's perspective.

On the downside, since its NZ, you have now seen the only trout in that mile of the river.
