Trying out Ski Helmet Bluetooth on a Budget Alternatives

Not wanting to shell out the ridiculous $200 for the Giro Bluetooth set up for my helmet I found a much cheaper alternative. Originally I purchased this little gizmo for me car http://www.amazon.com/Portable-Bluet...pd_sim_kinh_10 the one I got turned out to be a lemon (so i don't recommend it, sent back to amazon), but I quickly discovered that it could work for my ski helmet with the basic wired Skull Candy tune-ups in my helmet. Today I ordered this 25 dollar gadget: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I am hoping for better results than the last purchase. So it seems that with a few min on Amazon you can get wireless tunes in you helmet for about $150 less that the Giro/Skull Candy branded set-up.

I suggest this one for your car: http://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-BTC450-.../ref=pd_cp_e_0

I use this one (+ a short male-male 3.5 mm cord) on my helmet: http://www.amazon.com/NoiseHush-NS56...f=pd_sim_cps_2

So I may be missing something, but what's the benefit other than being able to put your phone in another pocket? Still have the wire going from the helmet to this gizmo in a pocket no?

Nope, I have my blutooth controller clipped to my helmet with a short 2 inch-ish cord running to the speak input in the ear. No cords going to jacket plus controls on the helmet for play/pause, volume, skip. Operates identical to Smith bluetooth but for $35.

Sorry its taken me a while to post again.. I have been using the BlueAnt RB-BKBL-US Ribbon Stereo Bluetooth Streamer clipped to my helmet- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with my Giro Skull Candy TuneUps. It works very well for music. Not as loud as when used wired but the sound quality is good and its easy to use once you get the hang of it. One downside- cant use it for calls. Aside from that its great.

Outdoor Technology Adapt. Google it. Designed for this, been using it all winter. Works great, easy, cheap, if you can find one, sold out most everywhere. Enjoy!
