Making turns in the Democratic People's Republic of Ann Arbor, MI. A mini TR

Well, it doesn't happen often, but when it does, it makes living here in winter w/o mtns not suck as bad...

This last storm dropped about 12-14" on top of a week old 6-8" and a crust below that. There is an area pretty close to downtown and really close to our place that has around 150' of consistent drop. For sure the best tree skiing in SE MI. We spent a little time marking and clearing some logs/obstacles and it paid off yesterday, I used my 'watts and not a core shot (hence no pow money shots)! This is typically our summer mtn bike area or "local loop."

My lovely wife in red who just so happens to be less than two weeks away from her/our due date with #1! She was a trooper and snowshoed up and down the skintrack a few times, she was kinda pissed she wasn't able to make any turns...

tons of little mini features/logs/hops etc. featuring yours truly.

The snow was really nice, best around here in years. Hoping it doesn't thaw!

When seconds count...ski patrol, SAR or the cops are only minutes away...

If they call it Tourist Season, why cant we shoot them?

Way to get after it!!! Sure looks like some fun woods, even if it's a bit short. Backyard bc is the best!

    awesome!

Was back in Michigan for the Winter Classic and was eyeing the snowy hill behind my parent's house, wishing I had brought my skis.

Where did you get the Michigan die cut sticker?

I would definitely be doing that. Today I skate skied around a frozen lake.

How about that game, other than the ending!!

My wife got me the sticker, I'm sure any online MI turon gift shop has them. The "LoVe" stickers are also hugely popular now as well, the 'V' is the lower peninsula tilted.

Gcooker, snowpack was pretty stable, we do have a persistent weak layer at the ground though my buddy was laughing as he used his avilung pack for his skins.
Praying we don't get the freezing rain that is in the forecast...

Frog Island? Did you use a 4wheeler for tow in speed? LOL. This place is like the Arb, but nicer.

You have now made more bc turns than me this season. And I live in a place where 175 inches have fallen. And I'm a Notre Dame fan. You Sir, are winning.

    You sir=stoke. Love the TR.

You made this pop into my head (specifically the line "Last Winter, Anne Arbor was all I had"):
