    Brake adapter post help

What post do I need to buy for 180mm rotor shimano slx brakes?

They are going on a fox talas and knolly endorphin. I can't seem to make too much sense of all the different options. P/s. MA. S/S. ISO.....

    PS: Post Mount
IS: Inside (at least that's how I think of it)

Most forks are post mount, and the rear mount is either post or inside. Just make sure you don't buy an Avid adapter.

What's wrong with the Avid adapter?

Nothing's wrong, but do they fit a Shimano SLX brake mount?

(honest question, since I have always had Avid brakes)

Kinda, but I still with the brand, just in case. Also be aware that sometimes rotors are 180, 185, or even 183mm. You most likely need a post mount adapter for a 180mm rotor. It screws threw the front, directly into the mounts on the fork. No fucking around with sideways stuff. If you have an Avid on hand in the right size, it will probably work, but if you don't, order the Shimano. Keep in mind that there is no front/rear (or they just say front) or axle specification with post mount adapters, so don't worry about it.

Whoops, didn't think/read entirely through. The rear looks like IS, so you'd need a REAR (axle type may not matter) 51mm IS to 74mm PM 180mm adapter.

http://www.jensonusa.com/Brake-Adapt...-Brake-Adaptor for the front. Should come with longer bolts. Might want to ask.
http://www.jensonusa.com/Brake-Adapt...Brake-Adaptors one of these for the rear. (select rear in the drop down. Yes, it's different.) Not sure why it doesn't come with bolts, but you may not need them.

    Congrats on your new bike!
    No longer stuck.
