Pedro is a slam dunk to go in. Smoltz should be a no brainer selection as well.

I've seen people make the case for mussina as well. I'm not sure if he passes the smell test for me but the numbers are interesting.

The bigger problem is that the voters are limited to ten per ballot and there are easily twelve or fourteen worthy names on it at this point. The backlog won't get cleared until it gets to the veterans committee unless the sports writers pull their heads out of their asses. Which seems unlikely.

Yeah, I think both those guys get in eventually, I'm just not sure about first ballot.

I probably underrated Cal during his career, really holding "the streak" against him. The O's were never my favorite team, especially when they were good.

Big series this weekend. The two bottom teams of the AL are going to battle it out to stay in the hunt.

I will be there on Sunday. Hoping for an incredible game.

Werth&co. sleepy tonight. Hoping losing Zim again won't derail their run. Lot of parity across the top of the NL.

Hats off to Corey Kluber of the Tribe. Retired the first 19 batters he faced, struck out 10 and went 10 innings.

If it weren't for the most absurd catching error followed immediately by a throwing error (spiked ball into ground 3 feet in front of him in attempt to throw to 2nd) by Raburn this game would be over and a 1-0 win.

Dude deserved a no hitter and was damn near on his way there, much less a PG. Dude was so lights out.

    LOL... Just fucking LOL.

TB is on a roll and the Red Sox are.... not.

I assume you don't listen to sports talk that deals with the Red Sox but all everyone is talking about and hoping for is dumping Lester and Koji. The Sox are out and both are free agents come next season. Dump them and get something in return because neither is coming back. Pedroia is playing like shit and is out actually. DO came out of the game with back injury. I would be stunned if the Rays didn't sweep this weekend.

It shouldn't be a good series, it should be a slaughter.

And Peavy (not like it fucking matters) should be gone soon too.

wtf, you don't even deserve to be a sox fan. We will win the fuck out. Everyone will be slaughtered before us like the Polish Cavalry when the German tanks showed up.

    Get with the program.

Tough break to see the Royals on the front page with the win.

edit to add: I was going to check out the Cyclones on Saturday night but the game is sold out. I can't decide whether to go down and hustle up a ticket. Is there anyone on the Burlington Lake Monsters (short season A ball) that people are excited about? They're an A's affiliate now.

The problem with this thread is there's not enough Dodgers talk. Click image for larger version.

Beckett sucks. Puig is better than you and your whole family - he can be a dick if he wants

One major flaw in your logic is that the dodgers actually do not suck. Weird right?? Click image for larger version.

Thoughts after watching highlights from Cooperatown:

All Braves, all day. Good for them. Crazy those teams didn't win more.

Big Hurt was classy. Despite fucking hating the ChiSox, along with most of the ALCent, I always liked this guy. (Cue Boston dopes saying something about that tub of lard Papi)

Crazy good managers inducted. Hated the Yanks and Cards and Braves of their eras but I respected all of em. Insane the teams these three oversaw.

Thomas was a great hitter. Even under rated at certain points in his career. I'm not a fan of snubbing piazza and bagwell.
